Hailing originally from the Jordan Valley (Kibbutz Afikim), Chen spent years absorbing knowledge from kitchens, bakeries, and dairies across Europe. Luckily for us, she decided to head back home, to where it all began. Here she weaves what she learned into Rutenberg, believing that food, like those who eat it, is shaped by the landscape of home.
Chef
Born and raised in Kanaf in the Golan Heights. When we started at Rutenberg, Tomer and her family became part of our community, and in early 2022 she joined the kitchen. Since then she's worked in kitchens across the country, and today leads the kitchen alongside Chen as sous chef.
Sous Chef
comes mainly from the wine field but, together with Yizhar, has learned a lot of nonsense over the years and continues to apply and develop Rutenberg.
Owner
Tal is the first to truly organize the Rutenberg wine and alcohol collection. She is an expert in discovering special and new wines. We are thrilled to have managed to move her and her family from the center to a kibbutz in the Valley of Springs.
Wine and Business Development
Manor has taken on the task of fulfilling Hilah and Yizhar's dream of a crazy garden in the valley's heat with creativity and admirable grace.
Garden
With years of experience in the restaurant industry, Lior eventually returned to his roots. He is Yizhar's younger brother. Yes, it's the same sense of humor... In the end, we might even drag him back to live in the kibbutz.
Manager
A native of Moshav Ramot. Just like Rutenberg, he lives his life by the principles of nose-to-tail. He forages, harvests, and cooks with whatever is at hand. Having previously been a chef at farm-to-table restaurants, including Moshbutz, Yiftach brings with him extensive knowledge of meats, pickling, and fermentation.
Kitchen
A native of Moshav Ba'arotayim. A farmer from a young age. Noa grew up in a home that cultivates, forages, ferments, and initiates. She divides her time between the garden, the kitchen, and service.
